Isla van Tricht is a theatre, TV, and games writer based in Brighton. She is represented by Alex Bloch and Alexandra Kordas at 42.
 
Her work has been produced in London (incl.  Southwark Playhouse, The Roundhouse, King’s Head Theatre, The Other Palace, VAULT Festival), off-Broadway, New York City (59E59 Theaters) and across the UK (incl. Nottingham Playhouse, Manchester Hope Mill, Plymouth Barbican).
 
Her recent work includes Becoming Electra (UK Tour, **** WEE REVIEW), and TITS ‘N’ TEETH (Underbelly, **** THE SCOTSMAN).
 
Her work has been longlisted for The Bruntwood Prize, Verity Bargate Award and Papatango Playwriting Prize.
 
She is currently on attachment with the Traverse Theatre and part of Hampstead Theatre’s Writers’ Group – mentored by Roy Williams and Roxana Silbert. Early this year Isla took part in the Advances in Scriptwriting Group at RADA lead by Paul Sirett.
 
She is under commission to write two new plays this year and under option with Endor Productions to write an original TV series. Last year she undertook two R&D periods - one for The Money with represent theatre - and an ACE-development of her play The Two Gentlemen of The Hollow Heart, hosted by Hampstead Theatre and mentored by the Ringham Brothers.

She is currently  working on an independent videogame as narrative and dialogue writer. She also has a new musical in development.

She also delivers playwriting workshops to schools, youth groups and youth theatre programmes across the UK, in person and virtually.
​
Alongside writing, Isla has delivered talks and workshops across the UK to students and parents on PSHE/RSE topics for the past 5 years. For more information click here.

Isla studied an MA in Text and Performance (Playwriting pathway) at RADA in 2014 – 2015. She co-founded theatre company Shrapnel Theatre Ltd and served as artistic director until June 2016
